Job Description

Barr-Nunn Transportation, founded in 1982, is a reputable dry van truckload carrier known for its outstanding on-time pickup and delivery service. Operating a fleet of approximately 600 tractors and 2,150 trailers, Barr-Nunn serves major e-commerce customers and other clients that demand timely and reliable freight transportation. With a strong emphasis on safety and service quality, the company has built a stable and profitable business model, avoiding the instability often seen in the trucking industry. Barr-Nunn's commitment to excellence is demonstrated through its exceptional safety record and award-winning on-time performance, making it a preferred employer and carrier for quality-driven shippers. The company values long-term relationships with its drivers and customers, ensuring dependable service over many miles and years to come.

This role offers solo, company driver opportunities with an attractive pay range between $85,000 and $95,000 annually, complemented by a generous transition bonus ranging from $1,400 to $1,875 depending on qualifications, paid on the first paycheck. Drivers enjoy a beneficial work-home schedule of 21 days on the road followed by 7 days off, promoting a balanced lifestyle. The trucking assignments involve 100 percent no-touch freight hauled in full dry van truckload configurations, which reduces physical strain and increases efficiency. Barr-Nunn supports drivers by providing paid flights home or reimbursing fuel for those living east of Interstate 35 when they park at company terminals.

Compensation is competitive, with rates of 65 to 70 cents per mile based on experience and endorsements, plus multiple pay incentives such as hiring bonuses for drivers with or without HAZMAT endorsements, accessorial pay like stop-off pay, orientation pay, and safety-based bonuses provided every 90 days. Moreover, drivers have the opportunity to increase earnings through premium pay rates for hauling placarded HAZMAT freight, anniversary bonuses, detention pay starting after just one hour, and higher loads pay for short-haul routes under 400 miles.

The company's modern fleet includes late-model Freightliner Cascadia tractors equipped with amenities like a TV, microwave, fridge, inverter, Sirius XM radio, CB radio, and comfortable bedding, enhancing the driver's comfort and overall job satisfaction. Additional advantages include advanced technological tools for managing loads and payroll via smartphone apps, prepass weigh station bypass capabilities, and toll transponders for streamlined travel.

Barr-Nunn offers one of the best comprehensive benefits packages in the industry, featuring BCBS health insurance, dental insurance, free $10,000 life insurance, an excellent 401(k) plan with company match, and paid time off that accelerates based on miles driven. There's also a lucrative referral program that rewards drivers significantly for their successful recruitment efforts. Paying weekly and maintaining a positive safety culture with unmatched CSA safety bonuses, the company fosters a supportive work environment focused on rewarding safety, reliability, and commitment.

Overall, this position with Barr-Nunn Transportation is ideal for experienced CDL-A drivers looking for a stable, well-compensated career with excellent benefits and a respected employer committed to their long-term success and well-being.
