With a strong presence in the aviation industry worldwide, Swissport is committed to delivering consistent, tailor-made solutions that enhance the customer experience at airports around the globe. The company’s mission is to support the aviation sector through innovative and reliable services that meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Swissport cultivates a workplace culture driven by core values such as Show You Care, Do the Right Things, and Win as a Team, emphasizing teamwork, integrity, and a commitment to excellence. This environment fosters growth and development for its employees, encouraging dedication and professionalism in every role within the company.
Joining Swissport means becoming part of a dynamic and fast-paced industry where every employee contributes to ensuring smooth and safe operations that keep the aviation world connected. The role of Duty Manager - Fueling is a critical position focused on overseeing the day-to-day fueling operations required for aircraft turnaround. This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary of $70,000 alongside a comprehensive benefits package including health and wellness programs, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid vacation and sick time, and company-paid holidays.
As a Duty Manager - Fueling, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient management of into-plane fueling activities. Your role ensures that all fueling processes comply with regulatory standards and contract requirements, protecting both the aircraft and personnel involved in the fueling operations. You will enforce company safety policies, oversee the utilization of fueling equipment, and maintain strong adherence to guidelines set forth by authorities such as the FAA, TSA, IATA, ATA, U.S. Customs, and airport authorities. Additionally, you will audit and correct fuel-related paperwork, ensure compliance with specific fuel quality control specifications including ATA 103 Fuel Quality Control, NFPA 407, and FAR Part 139.321, and complete daily operational reports.
This role requires exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail to effectively manage staff scheduling, reduce overtime dependency, and maintain high standards of operational excellence. You will also have the responsibility to coach, counsel, and discipline employees when company policies are not adhered to, ensuring a professional and compliant workforce. Building strong working relationships is a key aspect of the role, as you will liaise regularly with customers, airport authorities, and government agency representatives to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
The Duty Manager - Fueling is instrumental in reviewing operational, sales, and activity reports to analyze the adequacy of services and make recommendations for improvements when necessary. This role is ideal for individuals with a safety-first mindset, a strong knowledge base of relevant regulations, and a passion for delivering excellent service in the aviation industry. By joining Swissport in this capacity, you become part of a team that values diversity, equal opportunity, and workplace inclusion, contributing to a supportive environment that thrives on mutual respect and shared success.
