The role is for a Certified Operating Room (OR) Technician, a crucial member of the surgical team responsible for assisting in preparing surgical patients and maintaining the sterile field during operations. The Certified OR Tech works closely with surgeons and nursing staff to optimize the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures. This full-time position, with a 0.90 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) status, primarily involves working night shifts and benefits from shift differentials including 17% for weekday nights, 26% for weekend nights, and 15% for weekend day shifts. Compensation is competitive and influenced by experience, education, and organizational factors.

Responsibilities include setting up surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile environments, handling surgical specimens, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation. The Certified OR Tech also takes part in critical patient safety initiatives by following and promoting hospital policies, responding urgently to surgical supply requests, assisting in special surgical procedures, and participating in continuous professional development. The role demands a highly organized, attentive individual capable of working under pressure while maintaining impeccable sterile practices and patient care standards.

This role requires a Surgical Tech program diploma and a nationally recognized Surgical Technology Certification. Candidates must have at least two years of directly related surgical experience. The position demands physical capability to handle heavy work including the movement of equipment and positioning patients safely. The Certified OR Tech must also comply with safety requirements such as using personal protective equipment (PPE) against chemical and biohazardous materials and participating in tuberculosis testing upon hire and as required.

Employing bilingual skills in local languages such as Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo is considered beneficial but not essential.
