Job Description
Florida Coast Medical Center is a newly opening hospital set to serve communities along Florida's Treasure Coast with high-quality medical care starting in September 2025. With a focus on providing advanced and compassionate healthcare, the center aims to combine state-of-the-art technology with personalized services to improve patient outcomes. The hospital offers a wide range of specialties including premier surgical care, neurosciences, orthopedic and spine surgery, cardiac catheterization and heart care, vascular surgery, cancer care, and urology. As a part of our commitment to excellence, Florida Coast Medical Center places strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and a patient-centered approach that ensures every team member contributes meaningfully to our mission. We believe that by working together, we deliver superior healthcare experiences to our patients and their families. Our new facility embodies these core values and strives to be a leader in medical services within the region.
The Perioperative Acute Care Manager is a critical leadership role within Florida Coast Medical Center, designed for a registered nurse with extensive clinical experience and leadership skills in surgical services and perioperative care. This full-time, day-shift position oversees clinical activities within the perioperative unit, coordinating care delivery while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The manager directly and indirectly supervises ancillary staff, focusing on maintaining high standards of clinical practice, patient safety, and regulatory compliance. The role includes responsibility for performance improvement initiatives, competency assessments, and patient safety goal implementation specific to the perioperative environment. This leader ensures that all nursing documentation is accurate and adheres to established guidelines, including department-specific CDC protocols and medication reconciliation processes. Education and staff development are key aspects of this position, requiring the Perioperative Acute Care Manager to facilitate in-service training across outpatient and recovery areas to enhance staff skills and knowledge. Additional responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling, providing support on clinical units during coverage needs, and acting as a role model by promoting evidence-based practices and excellence in clinical care. The ideal candidate for this role is a results-driven professional with 7-10 years of experience in surgical services, operating room management, leadership, or quality assurance. A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred, along with current RN licensure and certifications such as BLS, CPR, and ACLS through the American Heart Association. Florida Coast Medical Center offers a competitive employment package that includes comprehensive benefits to support the wellbeing and professional growth of the Perioperative Acute Care Manager. This role is essential to the operational success and quality of care that the hospital aspires to provide its community, making it an exciting opportunity for a dedicated healthcare leader ready to contribute to a growing institution and make a meaningful impact on patient care.
