The role of Perioperative Acute Care Manager at Florida Coast Medical Center is a critical leadership position within the hospital's clinical structure. This full-time, day-shift position demands an experienced registered nurse who excels in critical thinking and clinical coordination. The manager will oversee the clinical activities in a specific perioperative unit, ensuring seamless collaboration among healthcare team members. Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of nursing and ancillary staff, focusing on unit-based performance improvement, and acting as a resource instructor for competency assessments specific to the units. Additionally, the role involves reviewing department-specific CDC guidelines, achieving 100% medication reconciliation, conducting educational in-services for outpatient and recovery areas, and assisting with staff scheduling. The manager will step in to cover during absences of the Assistant Director or to support clinical units as needed, exemplifying leadership and clinical excellence. This position is ideal for a seasoned nurse with 7-10 years of experience in surgical services, operating room leadership, or quality management. Certification in BLS/CPR and ACLS from the American Heart Association is required.
