JINS Eyewear is a renowned Japan-based eyeglass retailer that was founded in 2001. The current opportunity is for a Customer Service Specialist / Optician to join the team at the JINS Eyewear store located in the Valley Fair Mall in Santa Clara. This role is full-time and non-exempt, with an immediate start date, offering a competitive pay range of $23.00 to $26.00 per hour. The position requires a motivated and enthusiastic individual who will serve as a core member of the store’s daily operations.
As a Customer Service Specialist / Optician, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering stellar customer service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. This involves engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner, understanding their needs, and addressing any concerns regarding products or services with honesty and integrity. The specialist will handle eyewear products with precision, ensuring speed, efficiency, and accuracy in the creation and adjustment of eyeglasses.
The role also involves conducting eye exam pre-testing, fitting and assembling eyeglasses to meet customer preferences, and actively participating in store meetings to enhance overall customer service, store operations, and sales goals. Being a collaborative team member, the candidate will foster a warm and supportive atmosphere within the store and provide guidance and training to less experienced team members. A strong work ethic and leadership by example are essential for cultivating high standards of service and exceeding customer expectations.
This position demands excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and physical stamina to be on your feet and active in the sales floor or stock room for extended periods. Job Requirements
- High school or equivalent (G.E.D)
- ABO certification preferred
- One year of retail experience
- Availability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written
- Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to be on feet most of the day or moving on the sales floor or stock room

Job Duties

- Perform eye exam pre-testing
