The role of Operator, Bakery-Ingredient Prep at Aspire Bakeries, specifically at its Swedesboro bakery, offers individuals an opportunity to be a vital part of the production process. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the Lead Mixer by ensuring that ingredients are accurately scaled and prepared exactly according to recipe specifications. The Operator is tasked with maintaining quality and consistency in dough production by adhering to precise mixing times, temperature standards, and quality checks throughout the process. This position demands attention to detail, the ability to monitor and verify dough characteristics, and a commitment to sanitation and food safety standards. The role is offered on the first shift, from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, and requires weekend availability, with a competitive hourly wage of $20.

In this role, you will be responsible for critical tasks that contribute directly to the quality and safety of Aspire Bakeries' products. You will handle scaling and mixing ingredients, monitoring dough throughout various stages, maintaining ingredient inventory, documenting production data accurately, and keeping equipment clean and sanitary. This position also involves physical work, including lifting flour bags up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced bakery environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 6 months of general labor experience in manufacturing
  • Ability to understand and follow recipes and mixing process controls
  • Basic knowledge of dough mixing and operating mixing equipment
  • Ability to read scale and temperature readouts and document data accurately
  • Basic computer skills for operating screens and data entry
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow recipes and mixing process controls
  • Basic knowledge of dough mixing and operating mixing equipment
  • Ability to read scale and temperature readouts and document data accurately
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • At least 6 months of general labor experience in manufacturing
  • Basic computer skills for operating screens and data entry
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • Accurately prepare and scale ingredients as specified by recipe
  • Mix ingredients to specified time and temperature standards
  • Monitor dough temperatures during mixing and final stages
  • Add ingredients in correct order to achieve desired characteristics
  • Verify dough texture visually and physically for quality
  • Maintain ingredient inventory and ensure proper usage per pick list
  • Confirm lot numbers match documentation and enter data accurately in MOVEX
  • Keep refrigerated ingredients properly stored and organized
  • Incorporate waste dough back into mixes when allowed by specifications
  • Ensure weight scales function accurately and document mixing data timely
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of mixing equipment and ingredient areas
  • Lift and dump 50 lbs flour bags as needed
  • Complete mixing documents at end of shift and store appropriately
  • Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards at all times
