Job Description

Penske Logistics is a global leader in the logistics industry, providing innovative transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions that help businesses optimize their supply chains. With operations spanning North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Penske Logistics leverages state-of-the-art technology and a dedicated workforce to deliver superior results and increase supply chain visibility for market-leading companies. The company is committed to excellence and continuous improvement, focusing on driving down costs while enhancing service levels. Penske Logistics employs a dynamic team of logistics professionals who are passionate about innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.

The role of Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics offers a unique opportunity to lead and manage warehousing operations at a single location, specifically at the Aurora, Colorado facility. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing daily logistics activities, including loading and unloading trailers, cross-docking, and ensuring customer service operations are executed efficiently and within budget. The Operations Supervisor will provide direct supervision to hourly staff and individual contributors, guiding workforce and equipment scheduling, monitoring performance standards, and taking corrective actions when necessary. This role is critical in maintaining operational compliance, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and sustaining high performance through motivation and coaching.

Operations Supervisors at Penske Logistics are bonus eligible, with the potential to earn up to 12% of their base salary based on their individual and location performance, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding results-driven leadership. The position operates on a shift schedule from Wednesday to Saturday, starting at 2:00 PM until completion, requiring flexibility around peak seasons, holidays, and staffing needs. The salary range for this role is $57,783 to $74,500 annually.

Key responsibilities include conducting team meetings, managing attendance, productivity, and performance standards, and ensuring associates are thoroughly trained and competent. Supervisors also interview and recommend hourly associates for hire and provide coaching and discipline up to written warnings. In addition to managing employee relations, the role requires supervising logistics operations related to dispatch, proper documentation, and procedure controls. The Operations Supervisor must have a thorough understanding of the site’s operating systems to guarantee compliance and the resolution of exceptions.

Financial oversight is another important aspect of this role, with responsibility for enforcing financial policies related to inventory accuracy, control, and damage returns. Managing associates’ working hours efficiently to minimize overtime and meet productivity goals is essential. The role emphasizes safety management by aligning day-to-day activities with the location’s safety strategy, conducting safety observations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies.

The Operations Supervisor is also expected to strive for continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance operational processes and customer satisfaction. The role involves working closely with associates and vendors to ensure equipment is properly used and maintained. Additional duties include providing relief coverage during associates’ absences and completing necessary records and reports accurately and promptly. This role calls for a proactive leader who demonstrates ownership, responsibility, and the ability to connect with associates and customers alike, making independent decisions while leading change in a fast-paced logistics environment.
