Job Description

Penske Logistics is a global leader in transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions. With operations spanning North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Penske Logistics delivers innovative and efficient supply chain services that help market-leading companies improve visibility and reduce costs. As a trusted partner to businesses across diverse industries, Penske Logistics emphasizes a customer-centric approach combined with a commitment to operational excellence, state-of-the-art technology, and continuous improvement. Penske’s culture values collaboration, safety, and development of its associates, fostering an environment that drives success through teamwork and leadership.

The company is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to lead a warehousing operation at their Grand Prairie, Texas location. This supervisory role is focused on providing operational leadership to a team of hourly associates, ensuring efficient execution of daily tasks such as loading and unloading trailers, cross-docking, and customer service activities. The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for workforce and equipment scheduling, making corrective and disciplinary decisions, participating in hiring processes, and representing Penske in customer meetings when necessary. This role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 5:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with hours varying as needed to complete work. It is a bonus-eligible position, with up to 12% of base salary awarded based on individual and location performance.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in warehouse management, demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, and maintain goal and detail orientation while supporting the front-line workforce. Key responsibilities include ensuring associates are trained and competent, monitoring performance and attendance, motivating the team through recognition, and supervising all aspects of logistics operations including documentation, dispatch, and compliance. Additionally, the supervisor will manage operational issues, help develop work methods for higher productivity, cover operational duties in the absence of associates, and maintain knowledge of operating systems to ensure compliance and exception resolution.

Finance and safety also play a critical role, as the supervisor must manage inventory accuracy, adherence to financial policies, and facilitate safe workplace practices by training, feedback, and conducting safety observations. The supervisor will collaborate with associates, vendors, and customers to maintain equipment, meet customer objectives, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and manage labor costs by monitoring overtime and productivity metrics. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make independent decisions are essential to excel in this position. Offering an opportunity to lead within a respected logistics company, this role provides not only a competitive salary plus performance incentives but also excellent benefits to support employee well-being and career growth.
