The role of Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics is crucial to ensuring the smooth and efficient operations at a single warehousing location. The Operations Supervisor oversees key functions such as trailer loading and unloading, cross-docking, customer service operations, workforce scheduling, and equipment management, thereby ensuring operational compliance and excellence.

This is a full-time position based at the facility located at 7111 S Crismon Rd, Mesa, AZ. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am, with flexibility required during peak seasons, holidays, or periods of staff shortages. Operations Supervisors at Penske are bonus eligible, with potential earnings of up to 12% of their base salary for maximizing performance, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding leadership and operational success.

Job Duties

  • Provide operational leadership to staff including loading/unloading trailers
  • supervise workforce and equipment scheduling
  • make corrective and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level
  • interview and recommend hourly hires
  • monitor attendance and productivity
  • motivate and engage associates
  • supervise customer service and freight operations including dispatch and documentation
  • conduct team meetings
  • evaluate and recommend productivity improvements
  • assist in training new associates
  • provide relief coverage during absences
  • ensure operational compliance
  • complete records and reports timely
  • ensure compliance with financial policies including inventory control and damages
  • manage associates' working hours to minimize overtime
  • ensure safety compliance and conduct safety observations
  • provide safety training and feedback
  • understand and meet customer goals and objectives
  • identify areas for continuous improvement
  • plan work assignments for warehouse equipment use
  • ensure safe operation and maintenance of equipment
  • perform other projects as assigned
