The Operations Supervisor role at Penske Logistics is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing and directing logistics and transportation activities at a single location. This role focuses on leading and supervising drivers and other associates to ensure the seamless execution of daily operational tasks such as driver deliveries, loading and unloading of trailers, and managing customer service functions. This is a full-time position with typical working hours from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday, though hours may vary based on business demands. The salary range for this role is $62,353.20 to $74,500.00 annually with eligibility for a performance bonus up to 12% of base salary. Job Duties
- Establish and sustain training and competence among supervisors and associates
- Communicate specific and measurable performance standards
- Interview and provide recommendations for hiring hourly associates
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards
- Provide coaching and counseling to associates
- Motivate and engage associates focusing on team accomplishments
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, dispatch, and documentation
- Conduct team meetings
- Recommend changes to improve dispatch productivity
- Provide relief coverage for operational duties during absences
- Ensure site operating systems compliance and resolve exceptions
- Complete records and reports accurately and timely
- Ensure financial policy compliance including tracking MPG, returns, and damages
- Manage associates’ working hours to control overtime and meet productivity targets
- Align day-to-day management with location safety strategy
- Provide safety communication, training, feedback, and direction
- Ensure regulatory and company safety compliance
- Conduct safety observations
- Understand and work to meet location-specific customer goals and objectives
- Commit to customer satisfaction
- Identify areas for continuous improvement
- Plan work assignments for effective use of fleet equipment
- Ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment maintenance
- Schedule preventative maintenance with Penske Truck Leasing
- Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
