As an Operations Supervisor at United Rentals, you will play a pivotal role in driving branch performance and operational excellence. This position involves working closely with the Branch Manager to oversee daily activities, ensuring that all operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service. You will be responsible for supervising staff, monitoring branch metrics, and implementing strategies to enhance productivity and profitability. Your leadership skills will be essential in motivating and coaching team members to meet company goals and maintain compliance with policies and procedures. Additionally, you will support sales initiatives by ensuring accurate processing of rental quotations, reservations, and contracts, helping to contribute to the overall success and growth of the branch.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage a variety of operational responsibilities such as opening and closing the branch, reconciling cash drawers, and handling bank deposits. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3+ years of sales and operational experience
  • 2+ years supervision and leadership experience
  • Basic knowledge of the construction rental equipment industry or related
  • Strong motivational and leadership skills
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable record

Job Duties

  • Support Branch Manager in implementing actions to achieve financial objectives
  • Assist the Branch Manager in ensuring compliance with all company policies
  • Drive branch metrics by monitoring scorecard items, determining root causes and opportunities for improvement and providing coaching and feedback to staff, making recommendations for corrective actions
  • Support all aspects of sales and customer service to ensure world class service and operational excellence, including processing rental quotations, reservations and contracts in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency by ensuring that staff is trained and compliant with the Rental Flow Process
  • drive profitability by monitoring and controlling costs
  • May be responsible for day-to-day operational activities including opening and closing, cash drawer reconciliation and bank deposit, and others
  • Motivate, coach and train personnel
  • Promote a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability and communication
  • Other duties assigned as needed
