The role of a Front Desk Associate at TownePlace Suites Lombard is a dynamic and customer-focused position integral to the hotel's operations. As a non-management, full-time role with a pay range of $19.50 to $20.00 per hour, this position involves a variety of responsibilities centered around guest services and operational efficiency. The Front Desk Associate is primarily responsible for managing guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring all procedures are handled accurately and professionally. This includes confirming reservations, verifying guest identity, processing payments, assigning rooms, and issuing room keys. The associate also handles guest inquiries, requests, and concerns by liaising with other hotel departments such as Bell Services and Housekeeping to resolve issues promptly. Another key aspect of the job involves completing cashier and closing reports, maintaining shift logs, and documenting important information in daily memo books. The role requires the associate to sell rooms to walk-in guests based on availability and ensure all rates and market codes are correctly applied and exceptions properly documented. In addition to guest interaction, the position includes supportive duties such as assisting management with training, coaching, and motivating other employees. The Front Desk Associate serves as a role model and the first point of contact for the hotel’s Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Maintaining safety, following company policies, and upholding professional appearance standards are also vital components of this role. Furthermore, the associate is expected to foster a positive and welcoming environment by acknowledging all guests with genuine appreciation, communicating clearly and professionally, and establishing strong working relationships with team members. Physical requirements include standing or walking throughout shifts and handling objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
