Job Description
GFL Environmental is one of North America's leading waste management companies, dedicated to creating cleaner, safer, and happier communities through first-class service and sustainable solutions. Founded on the principles of environmental stewardship and community well-being, GFL has established itself as a trusted and innovative player in the waste management industry. The company's commitment to investing in their people is reflected in their vibrant team culture affectionately known as Team Green, which symbolizes their shared mission to deliver sustainable solutions that keep communities Green For Life. This workforce is united by a strong sense of purpose and pride in their work, fostering an environment of collaboration, respect, and professional growth. GFL is not just a place to work; it is a place to build a meaningful career with ample opportunities for advancement, training, and long-term success.
The role of Site Supervisor at GFL Environmental is a pivotal position focused on safely monitoring and supervising all site operations and employees while ensuring that all equipment is in proper working order. This is a leadership role that demands not only the ability to manage teams effectively but also the skills to foster positive employee and employer relations. As a Site Supervisor, you will be the face of professionalism on-site, driving resource management, risk management programs, maintaining high production standards, and supporting business expansion and profitable operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, enjoys working outdoors, and is passionate about safety and sustainability.
In this supervisory capacity, you will have the exciting responsibility of building and mentoring your dream team by scouting, hiring, and training some of the best talent in the industry. You will be instrumental in orchestrating efficient daily operations, from coordinating drivers and helpers to optimizing route schedules for a fleet of vehicles, ensuring every stop is executed flawlessly. You will also serve as the safety champion on-site, promoting a culture that treats compliance and safety regulations as badges of honor rather than mere requirements.
This role offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $85,000 per year, complemented by a 20% bonus eligibility, which reflects the importance GFL places on recognizing hard work and dedication. GFL’s comprehensive benefits package includes 15 days of paid time off, multiple medical plan options including an HSA with employer contribution and match program, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with employer match, paid holidays, and an Employee Assistance Program offering free counseling services.
As a Site Supervisor at GFL Environmental, you will play an essential role in maintaining operational excellence and contributing to environmental sustainability in Central Virginia. Your ability to handle early mornings, fast-paced energy, and complex challenges with grit, intelligence, and heart will make you a valued leader and community advocate. This position also ensures compliance with all CDL regulations, keeping the fleet safe, legal, and efficient. Being out in the field for route observations offers you the opportunity to stay connected with the community and the pulse of operations, making a tangible impact every day.
If you have at least one year of supervisory experience or are a Rockstar Lead Driver ready to step up, know your way around computer systems, are fluent in CDL regulations, and want to be part of a company that truly cares about its people, community, and the environment, the Site Supervisor position at GFL Environmental is your chance to shine and grow. Join Team Green and be part of something bigger, where your leadership helps make communities greener and life better for all.
