Job Description

Blissway is an innovative startup dedicated to revolutionizing the toll collection industry and enhancing highway safety across the United States. Combining multiple cutting-edge technologies such as Deep Tech, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Hardware, SaaS, and the Internet of Things, Blissway is transforming how tolling systems operate on a massive scale. Over the past five years, the company has developed a technological lead that sets it apart from competitors in an industry that is remarkably large and significant. Despite the size of the market and the presence of well-established companies with thousands of employees, Blissway operates with a highly agile and efficient team of fewer than 30 members. This lean approach allows for rapid innovation and a close-knit collaborative environment.

Blissway's impact is tangible across the entire Interstate Highway System in the U.S., making highways safer and smarter through intelligent roadside technology. The company’s hardware ecosystem includes cameras, sensors, batteries, and processing units that function autonomously in all weather conditions, 24/7. Their unique solutions contribute to safer travel experiences and more efficient toll collections, creating value not only for transport agencies but millions of daily drivers as well.

The role of Operations Specialist - Process and Industrial is a critical position within Blissway’s team, focused on building and optimizing manufacturing and operational processes. The successful candidate will take ownership of production, inventory management, testing, and process documentation to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in the assembly and deployment of hardware products. This hands-on role means the Operations Specialist will not only design and manage systems but also engage directly with the physical hardware in warehouses and production spaces, troubleshooting and validating processes as needed.

This position requires a proactive individual who thrives in a dynamic startup environment, willing to tackle diverse challenges and adapt quickly. The Operations Specialist will be responsible for establishing and maintaining efficient production workflows, including parts tracking, reorder thresholds, bill of materials management, procurement, and vendor relationships. They will develop and maintain standard operating procedures to enable scalable production, coordinate production runs to avoid delays, and oversee quality documentation to ensure traceability and compliance for all units shipped.

Blissway values ownership, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, making decisions in the absence of structured playbooks, and not afraid to dive into physical work when necessary. This role offers a unique opportunity to be foundational in scaling the company’s production capabilities from a small startup stage to medium-volume manufacturing.

Employment type is full-time with an attractive compensation range of $65,000 to $90,000. Blissway supports relocation to its engineering hub in Denver, where in-person collaboration and daily team interactions are highly valued. The company also offers robust benefits including personalized health coverage, 401(k) matching, life and disability insurance, equity opportunities, and generous time off policies designed to foster work-life balance and personal growth.

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Willingness to relocate to Denver for on-site collaboration

Job Qualifications

  • Experience building or running a production or inventory process such as manufacturing, assembly, kitting, or hardware operations
  • Hands-on comfort with physical hardware and willingness to use tools like a multimeter

  • Organized and systematic approach to building scalable systems

Job Duties

  • Build and own Blissway's production inventory system from the ground up including parts tracking, reorder thresholds, and bill of materials management
  • Procure components, assemblies, and tooling by sourcing vendors, negotiating lead times, and maintaining supply continuity
  • Create and maintain manufacturing standard operating procedures to enable consistent builds by technicians and future production staff
  • Coordinate production runs by scheduling builds, staging materials, tracking throughput, and identifying bottlenecks to prevent delays
  • Own quality documentation including incoming inspection, build records, test results, and traceability for every unit that ships
  • Collaborate directly with engineers to understand design transitions, component changes, and testing requirements
  • Perform hands-on tasks such as assisting in production, debugging failures, and validating new processes in practice
  • Identify operational gaps proactively and propose solutions to improve efficiency and consistency
