Penske Logistics is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead one of its warehousing operations located in Laredo, Texas. This leadership role is designed for a results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to exceeding established goals through effective team management and strategic planning. The Operations Manager will play a critical role in driving operational excellence by managing resources efficiently, fostering a strong safety culture, and maintaining productive relationships between associates, customers, and supporting departments.

As an Operations Manager at Penske Logistics, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer requirements are consistently met while aligning operational performance with company objectives. You will direct the recruitment, training, development, and retention of high-quality associates to build a competent and motivated team. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying and implementing operational improvements that enhance inventory accuracy, warehouse processes, and overall efficiency. Collaboration with other Penske sites to share best practices and leverage resources is a key aspect of this position.

In addition to operational responsibilities, the Operations Manager will manage financial resources by developing and executing the annual financial and operating plan. This includes monitoring financial performance against the business plan, making timely adjustments, and ensuring accurate and timely billing and payroll processes. The position also carries a safety leadership component where the manager must lead by example to cultivate an incident-free workplace environment, enforce compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuously reduce accident and injury rates through targeted improvement plans.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 to 6 years related functional experience
  • 3 plus years supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution center management
  • proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • ability to build relationships at all levels
