The role of Operations Manager - Housekeeping Services at Bell Hospital is a full-time, day shift position (7am-3:30pm) designed for a dynamic professional with strong leadership, organizational, and operational skills. This position carries the responsibility of overseeing the housekeeping processes for specific areas or functions within the hospital, including discharge-related activities. The manager leads staffing and scheduling activities to ensure adequate coverage, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards that comply with all regulatory requirements. The position demands oversight of day-to-day operations to ensure the environment meets exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards expected by patients, staff, and visitors.

Beyond operational management, the role plays a crucial leadership function in training, coaching, and performance management of housekeeping staff. The Operations Manager ensures regulatory compliance regarding sanitation, infection control, and regulated medical waste management. They also monitor supply inventories, recommend cost-effective purchases, and collaborate with clinical and non-clinical leaders to maintain and improve environmental service quality. The manager implements continuous improvement plans addressing service growth, patient experience, and customer service initiatives. This role also involves managing cost controls related to supplies, equipment, and labor in the housekeeping function, ensuring efficiency and financial responsibility.

Candidates for this role will be expected to perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies relevant to the assigned department or unit, maintaining a proactive approach to quality assurance, safety, and compliance with Joint Commission guidelines. The position involves conducting regular inspections, responding appropriately to customer inquiries and escalations, and participating in projects designed to improve operational efficiency and facility aesthetics. Job Requirements

  • bachelors degree in business engineering healthcare or related field from accredited college or university or four years of experience
  • three or more years of supervisory or lead role experience
  • experience with regulatory requirements for sanitation and infection control
  • ability to read write speak and understand English
  • basic computer skills including MS Office

Job Duties

  • manage the day to day housekeeping services including area and room cleaning floor cleaning trash removal pest control sharps removal
  • implement ongoing training and development of employees to maintain high quality patient staff and visitor satisfaction
  • ensure compliance with sanitation and infection control standards and proper handling packaging storage and disposal of regulated medical waste
  • hire onboard supervise coach mentor train and manage performance of housekeeping staff
  • complete and post work schedules ensuring adequate coverage and manage timecard signoffs
  • control costs related to supplies equipment and labor for housekeeping operations
  • implement service growth patient experience and customer service initiatives
  • conduct regular inspections of patient public and private areas to ensure compliance with quality safety and Joint Commission guidelines
  • collaborate with clinical and non clinical management to maintain clean safe and comfortable environment
  • assist with plans and projects to improve operational efficiency recommend improvements related to paint repairs furnishings refurbishing and equipment relocation
  • monitor supply inventory and equipment function recommend new or replacement supplies and equipment
  • respond to customer questions and escalations and provide service recovery
