The role being offered is a full-time management position located at 600 Routes 1 & 9 S, Newark, New Jersey, within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations category at the Courtyard by Marriott brand. The pay range for this role is $59,000 to $76,000 annually, with eligibility for bonuses. This position is not remote and requires an individual passionate about service excellence and operational leadership in the hotel industry.

As a Management team member at Courtyard by Marriott, the successful candidate will assist in overseeing and executing all operations across various hotel departments, including Front Office, Business Center, Recreation/Health Club, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage/Culinary, and Engineering/Maintenance. The individual will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring adherence to standards and procedures, and driving initiatives to improve guest and employee satisfaction alongside maximizing financial performance. Key responsibilities involve leading specific teams, translating property goals into actionable plans, and fostering an environment centered on motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

This role involves close engagement with employee and guest satisfaction metrics, developing strategies to address areas needing improvement while reinforcing strengths. It also requires guiding and supporting team capabilities to meet hospitality expectations, leading by example with confidence, energy, and enthusiasm. The candidate will be pivotal in understanding and exceeding the evolving needs and expectations of guests.

Operational management duties include following second effort and recovery plans specific to the property, timely dissemination of guest satisfaction data, and proactive management of employee and guest concerns. The individual will maintain professional and courteous communication with staff and guests, conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members, oversee staffing and scheduling aligned with business demands, and carry out hourly job functions as needed to support daily operations.

Additionally, the management role contributes to profitability by performing annual quality audits with the General Manager and Regional Director, enforcing key control programs, and analyzing financial and performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement. Human resources responsibilities encompass conducting interviews, assisting hiring decisions, ensuring thorough new hire orientation, and maintaining an engaging and supportive workplace culture.

Job Requirements
