The role of Operations Manager, Events at AREA15 is a key position within the Food & Beverage Department. This full-time role requires a strategic leader dedicated to supporting and overseeing the Events Division to ensure that all venues operate at the highest standards of visitor service, compliance, and operational excellence. The Operations Manager will collaborate closely with various departments including the General Manager, Events, Director of Food & Beverage Operations, Public and Private Sales teams, and multiple support teams across the property. Responsibilities include managing staff training, scheduling, payroll, inventory control, enforcement of food safety and health regulations as stipulated by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), and ensuring the flawless execution of Events and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs). The successful candidate will be proficient in technology and business planning software to efficiently build financial reports and projections. This position demands an individual capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, with excellent communication skills and a strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop management teams and frontline staff. They must also demonstrate AREA15's exceptional service standards, known as ART!, in every guest interaction, maintaining a professional appearance and adhering strictly to company policies and procedures. Given the nature of the business, the candidate must be flexible to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, committing to a minimum 50+ hour work week that may fluctuate based on business needs. This role is ideal for someone passionate about immersive entertainment who possesses extensive knowledge of all aspects of Food & Beverage operations and event management, particularly with experience in large-scale festivals, concerts, and temporary food and beverage stations. Ultimately, the Operations Manager, Events, is crucial to ensuring that AREA15 continues to provide extraordinary, seamless experiences to its diverse visitor base while maintaining operational integrity and financial success.

Job Requirements

  • Degree from accredited four-year institution preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in high volume food & beverage operations
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or over
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Valid work cards including Health, Alcohol Awareness and Non-Gaming
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 25lbs
  • Proficient knowledge of POS (Square), timekeeping software (Paychex), and purchasing systems (Yellow Dog)
  • Experience with food & beverage operations at large-scale events, festivals, and concerts
  • Strong leadership skills including time management and delegation
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience managing employees and handling guest issues in large crowd settings
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments with noise, crowds, flashing lights and smoke

Job Qualifications

  • Basic financial analysis and accounting knowledge
  • Proficient knowledge of POS (Square), timekeeping software (Paychex), and purchasing systems (Yellow Dog)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to allocate human and material resources creatively and efficiently
  • Organized and detail oriented when dealing with food standards, costs, safety, creating schedules, shipments, cleaning schedules
  • Ability to create and apply SOPs to ensure consistency
  • Proficient knowledge of applicable SNHD guidelines and requirements
  • Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships

  • Experience in developing and building teams

Job Duties

  • Exhibit exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, dealing with many types of people at all levels in a direct diplomatic way to always achieve best results
  • Be proficient in technology and business planning software to build financial projections and reports in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the General Manager, Events and the Director of F&B Operations to deliver on all food & beverage and operations needs for the assigned venues
  • Assist with development of Assistant Managers and Supervisors to further their growth
  • Collaborate with Public and Private Sales team to ensure Events/BEOs are executed as contracted with an exceptional attention to detail
  • Work with various support teams across property to execute Events/BEOs (security, housekeeping, customer experience, warehouse, property ops, production, attractions, etc.)
  • Hire, train and manage the front of house and back of house staff as required
  • Ensure all staff is trained on best practices for food preparation, proper and legal alcoholic beverage service, kitchen safety techniques and understanding of SNHD standards
  • Set daily and weekly work and cleaning schedules for front of house and back of house staff
  • Manage items, transactions, and basic upkeep of the POS system
  • Perform daily upkeep, verification, and corrections in timekeeping software
  • Oversee staff payroll and tip distribution accurately
  • Work with local suppliers for purchasing of spirits, dry goods, supplies, etc.
  • Manage inventory, COGs, labor, product mixes, valid work cards, etc
  • Conduct staff trainings, motivation, one on ones, and corrective coaching
  • Clearly report financials and descriptive recaps to senior management and other AREA15 executives at regular daily intervals and upon request
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Create and improve the existing policies and procedures for the F&B operations department
  • Be available to respond to time-sensitive matters
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned
