Job Description
KBR is a global engineering, construction, and services company that specializes in delivering innovative solutions to complex challenges across various industries including government, energy, defense, and infrastructure. With a legacy of excellence and a commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, KBR supports mission-critical operations worldwide. Among its many divisions, the Product and Technology Solutions Division focuses on rapid prototyping and advanced technology deployment related to directed energy, electronic warfare, and security applications. This division leverages its extensive expertise in electronic warfare systems, critical infrastructure protection, and product research and development to provide cutting-edge innovations tailored to meet rigorous defense and government requirements. Supporting these high-stakes environments demands a team that blends technical expertise with strategic operational management to ensure seamless execution and optimal performance.
The Operations Manager role at KBR is an essential leadership position within the Product and Technology Solutions Division, specifically dedicated to overseeing IT operations that support Federal Government programs. This role requires a proven leader who can manage complex operations involving cross-functional teams and diverse resources to maintain high performance, system availability, and customer satisfaction in demanding environments. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in implementing and enforcing IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices, monitoring service delivery standards, and ensuring strict compliance with government policies, security mandates, and contractual obligations. Given the sensitive nature of government and Department of Defense (DoD) operations supported by KBR, the role demands not only operational acumen but also a strong understanding of secure mission-critical environments and relevant regulatory frameworks.
As an Operations Manager, the individual will lead daily IT operational efforts, coordinating closely with government stakeholders to secure mission success. Responsibilities include managing staff schedules and resources, developing and maintaining operational procedures and metrics, and identifying and mitigating operational risks through corrective actions. Leadership and mentorship of technical and operational personnel are also key components of this role, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This position is contingent upon the award of a contract, reflecting the dynamic and project-based nature of KBR's government engagements.
This role is full-time and based on-site, with a competitive salary range from $77,050 to $115,575 for the Washington, DC area, adjustable based on candidate experience and contract specifics. Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, and performance incentives. KBR offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote employee well-being and career advancement, including 401K with company match, medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, and flexible work schedules.
Joining KBR means becoming part of a People First culture that values diversity, equality, and safety. The company fosters an inclusive environment where employees can belong, connect, and grow. KBR is committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, orientation, age, or any protected status, ensuring a respectful and supportive workplace for all. For professionals seeking a challenging and rewarding leadership position in IT operations supporting critical government functions, the Operations Manager role at KBR offers an unparalleled opportunity to impact national security while advancing one’s career within a globally respected company.
