The Operations Manager position is based at View Boston, an extraordinary venue situated atop the Prudential Tower. This venue features multi-level immersive experiences designed for both local residents and international visitors, including exhibits, a bistro, an indoor-outdoor cocktail lounge with panoramic views, and a unique indoor viewing space. The role of the Operations Manager is pivotal in ensuring the seamless daily operations of the venue, prioritizing guest satisfaction and efficient management of back-of-house activities. This leadership role requires overseeing diverse operational teams such as guest services, maintenance, housekeeping, and event staffing, enforcing compliance with all relevant safety and building regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for staff management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and conducting performance evaluations while cultivating a high-performance work environment.
This position requires hands-on leadership, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams effectively. The Operations Manager will be deeply involved in implementing and refining operational protocols such as opening and closing procedures, emergency preparedness training, and quality control initiatives. They will act as the Manager on Duty as scheduled, handle operational challenges promptly, and work collaboratively with vendors and other departments to ensure flawless event execution. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in facilities management, hospitality, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in venue operations or hospitality
- At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience
- Knowledge of OSHA, ADA, and NFPA compliance
- Ability to work irregular schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Commitment to maintaining high customer service standards
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in facilities management, hospitality, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in venue operations, hospitality, or public attractions
- 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong organizational and leadership skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Exceptional managing compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory agencies
- Comfortable with irregular schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
- familiarity with Accesso and Revel is a plus
- Ability to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Ability to maintain customer confidentiality and work well within a team environment
- Ability to balance internal priorities with client expectations
Job Duties
- Oversee day-to-day facility operations including guest services, maintenance, janitorial, ADA compliance, and event setup
- Lead and schedule part-time and full-time operations staff, ensuring proper payroll practices and shift coverage
- Execute and refine opening and closing procedures at the venue
- Hire, train, and manage supervisors and hourly staff
- conduct performance reviews and enforce policies/procedures
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with other departments and vendors to ensure seamless event execution
- Enforce all building codes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, ADA, NFPA, etc.)
- Lead and maintain fire/life safety and emergency preparedness training across the entire View Boston team
- Identify and resolve operational issues and guest concerns promptly
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled
- Support preventative maintenance plans and vendor management to reduce downtime and ensure readiness for events
- Drive departmental SOPs, quality control initiatives, and support budget management
- Assist with inventory, event changeovers, and support other business functions as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by View Boston management team
