Job Description
Highgate Hotels is a premier real estate investment and hospitality management company known for its expansive portfolio and innovative approach to the hospitality industry. With over $15 billion of assets under management and more than 400 hotels spanning North America, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America, Highgate has established itself as a leader in providing expert guidance through all phases of the property cycle — from the initial planning and development stages to recapitalization and disposition. The company prides itself on its diverse range of bespoke lifestyle hotel brands, legacy brands, and independent hotels and resorts. These properties feature contemporary programming combined with cutting-edge digital technology and industry-leading revenue management tools that help predict market trends and drive operational outperformance, maximizing asset value.
Situated within this industry-leading company is the Arthouse Hotel New York City, a boutique hotel located in Manhattan's Upper West Side. This century-old building has been thoughtfully renovated to blend the historic charm and vintage appeal of its original architecture with modern, hip boutique style. Guests experience a unique atmosphere with its custom artwork, antique fireplaces, and a 1920s French elevator system. Within walking distance of iconic New York attractions like Central Park, Lincoln Center, and the Museum of Natural History, Arthouse provides a quiet, stylish retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. This hotel embraces inclusivity, welcoming guests of all abilities and emphasizing accessibility in its facilities.
The role we are looking to fill is the Operations Manager position at Arthouse Hotel New York City. This is a year-round, full-time role that focuses on driving productivity and operational efficiency throughout the property. The Operations Manager reports directly to the Front Office leadership team and works in close conjunction with various departments, including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Engineering, to provide comprehensive operational support. This position requires hands-on leadership, as well as the ability to oversee daily tasks, coordinate employee schedules, manage payroll, and uphold the highest standards of guest service and property maintenance.
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in managing the Front Office operation and ensuring the hotel maintains Paramount standards in cleanliness, guest service, safety, and overall functionality. Responsibilities include handling guest requests and complaints, coaching and training staff, managing inventory and reporting, and supporting shift coverage in Food & Beverage operations as necessary. This role also demands a strong presence in the hotel lobby to support front desk agents and maintain positive guest interactions.
Candidates for this position should have progressive experience in hotel operations, proven supervisory skills, and proficiency with essential business software. The ability to multitask efficiently, communicate clearly, manage crises effectively, and promote a positive workplace culture is vital. Highgate Hotels values employees who can maintain discretion, uphold company standards, and contribute to a collaborative team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals passionate about operational excellence and guest satisfaction, offering a dynamic work environment within a respected global hospitality management company.
