Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 5 years of progressive hotel experience
  • at least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • proficiency in Windows and office software
  • able to work long hours when required
  • able to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to listen and clarify concerns

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel
  • 2+ years previous supervisory responsibilities
  • proficient in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with employees and guests
  • effective listening and clarifying concerns
  • able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • approach all encounters in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate hotel standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing nametags
  • comply with Highgate hotel standards and regulations
  • able to manage productivity and identify problem areas with solutions
  • effective in handling problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
  • able to understand and evaluate complex information to meet objectives
  • able to maintain confidentiality of information

Job Duties

  • Assist the General Manager and Assistant General Manager with managing the Front Office operation
  • provide strong lobby presence to assist front desk agents and guests
  • provide all aspects of shift coverage in Food & Beverage operations as needed
  • balance the hotel room type inventory
  • ensure all areas of the Front Desk and Food & Beverage operations are functioning to Paramount standards including cleanliness and authorized guest areas
  • monitor and action upsell program
  • handle guests' special requests and customer complaints during shift
  • perform all other front desk duties and responsibilities
  • investigate and handle complaints, disturbances, emergencies during shift
  • manage employee payroll, track attendance Dayforce, time edits, and conduct call-arounds for overtime as needed
  • coach, train, counsel hourly associates and administer discipline as needed
  • perform some Night Audit functions and produce Night Audit reports
  • prepare, copy, and distribute reports as required
  • attend and contribute to periodic meetings to maintain favorable working relationships and promote morale, productivity, and efficiency
  • participate in M.O.D. coverage as required
