The Operations Supervisor role at Forward Air is a vital position responsible for coordinating and overseeing the activities of dockworkers, drivers, and other support personnel involved in the loading and unloading of freight. The supervisor plans, directs, and controls resources to guarantee timely, damage-free freight handling while maintaining a secure and organized working environment. The Operations Supervisor works Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to midnight and offers an annual salary of $75,000. This position demands a hands-on leader who can manage high-volume, fast-paced distribution environments, particularly within the air freight industry. The supervisor must ensure proper facility upkeep, equipment maintenance, and adherence to safety regulations. Duties extend beyond oversight to include assisting in loading and unloading activities, maintaining load plans, and conducting facility inspections. This role requires the ability to handle physical demands such as lifting up to 90 pounds occasionally and will benefit from experience in forklift operation and knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations. The supervisor will also coordinate the utilization of a contingent workforce during peak seasons, ensuring operational efficiency across varying workload demands.
