The Fleet Services Operations Division Director plays a critical leadership role in managing the comprehensive operations of a city's fleet services. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, facilitating, staffing, and directing all activities within the Fleet Services Division, ensuring the efficient management of the city’s diverse fleet inventory, which includes light- and heavy-duty vehicles powered by gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel technologies. Job Requirements
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or related field
- five years of experience in fleet management or operations or closely related field
- three years of experience in managerial position
- valid driver’s license

- NAFA CAFM or APWA CFP certification preferred
- ASE certified master technician
- EVT certified master technician
- public safety emergency fleet management experience

Job Duties
- Provide strategic leadership and clear direction for fleet services operations
- oversee repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs for city vehicles and equipment
- manage division budget, service contracts, compliance, and financial performance
- develop service specifications for vendors and administer contracts
- plan and direct maintenance, repair, purchase, and disposal of vehicles and equipment
- establish and facilitate fleet programs, policies, and procedures
- develop goals, monitor performance, analyze challenges, prepare budgets, provide data analysis and reports, compute cost estimates, review audits, monitor maintenance bays, oversee hiring and training, resolve grievances, ensure employee safety compliance, enforce regulations and policies, perform other duties as assigned
