The Operations Director at MSI plays a critical leadership role within the warehouse management sphere, overseeing the effective management of warehouse operations in a 200,000 square foot facility. This full-time, salaried position commands an annual salary range from $115,000 to $135,000, depending on experience, education level, and annual bonuses. The work schedule typically includes Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with one Saturday per month from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

This role involves managing daily shipment performance and productivity, with direct supervision over a team of approximately 50 employees. The Operations Director ensures proper staffing for all shifts and functions to accommodate varying workloads and maintains an optimal flow of orders on the floor to support efficient operations. A key responsibility is the development, maintenance, and management of the facility’s quality processes, ensuring on-time shipping performance, and collaborating closely with employees, delivery drivers, and foremen to meet organizational standards. Regular reporting on quality and productivity is also a vital function, with the Director overseeing operational activities to support the distribution center layout and continuous improvement initiatives.

The position requires the Director to lead the facility’s realignment activities, supervise maintenance and supply management, and uphold a safe and compliant working environment. They provide direct supervision and accountability for foremen and strive to increase leadership capability within the team while encouraging professional growth. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, creativity for process improvements, and the ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced environment. Leadership, communication, and time management skills are essential, alongside a thorough understanding of Distribution and Warehouse Management applications. The candidate also must be proactive, goal-oriented, and adaptable to changing business needs, capable of presenting operational data to the business and leadership team.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Responsible for assuring all shifts and functions are properly staffed to execute varied work volume
  • manage flow of orders to the floor to optimize operation for approximately 50 employees in a 200,000 square foot facility
  • develop, maintain and manage facility quality process
  • ensure on-time shipping performance
  • work closely with employees, delivery drivers and foreman to ensure receipts and shipments meet standards
  • manage daily, weekly, monthly quality and productivity reporting
  • supervise realignment activities to ensure maximum optimization of the facility
  • manage operational activities to ensure distribution center layout and continuous improvement activities support goals of the operation
  • provide direct supervision to the foreman and hold them accountable for their performance and the performance of their teams
  • provide leadership, training, and supervision to 50 plus team members
  • continuously work towards increasing the leadership capability of the team and drive professional growth
  • responsible for all facility, equipment maintenance and supplies
  • responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and overseeing safety compliance
  • perform additional duties as required and/or requested
