Michigan State University is currently seeking an Operations Coordinator to join the Department of Police and Public Safety team. The Operations Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and directing staff, maintaining client and customer service satisfaction, and ensuring that all event positions are fully staffed as scheduled. In this role, the Operations Coordinator will manage the safe flow of event traffic by coordinating staffing points for inbound and outbound vehicles, overseeing the ParkHub event payment system, and handling event setup, breakdown, and equipment inventory. The coordinator is also tasked with generating reports related to event revenue and space utilization to support data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to that normally acquired through the first two or three years of college, such as an Associate’s degree in a business-related field, criminal justice, or hospitality
  • One to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in customer service, security, or event coordination
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as events dictate operational schedule
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and manage event-related logistics
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a business-related field, criminal justice, or hospitality preferred
