The Operating Room Nurse Manager plays a critical leadership role guiding operating room and surgical workflows spanning from pre-operative care through post-operative recovery. This position directly supports diverse high-acuity service lines including cardiac surgery, multi-specialty robotics, orthopedics, heart surgery, EMT coordination, GI lab interventions, oncology protocols, pediatrics, and obstetrics and gynecology. As a key member of the surgical services leadership team, the OR Nurse Manager reports to the Director of Perioperative Services and collaborates closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), anesthesia teams, sterile processing, educators, informatics specialists, and service line leaders.
This leadership role entails overseeing staffing, budgeting, block utilization, turnover, accreditation readiness, infection prevention, and surgeon relations—all vital to the smooth operation and high standards of the perioperative environment. Job Requirements
- bachelor's degree in nursing
- minimum of 5 years clinical nursing experience
- 3 years in perioperative or operating room nursing
- demonstrated managerial experience
- current CPR certification
- proficiency in electronic health record systems
- ability to work flexible hours
