Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland is a distinguished outpatient surgical facility dedicated to delivering exceptional surgical services across multiple specialties. As part of the larger Baylor Scott & White Health system, known for its commitment to quality care and innovative medical practices, this center focuses on providing a high-quality, convenient, and service-oriented alternative to traditional hospital settings. The Surgicare center operates with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to support a wide range of surgical specialties including Orthopedic Surgery, ENT, Gastrointestinal, Podiatry, Pain Management, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Colon and Rectal Surgery, and General Surgery. This facility boasts six fully equipped operating rooms designed to facilitate first-class surgical services in a cutting-edge and patient-centered environment.

The role of Operating Room Nurse Manager at Baylor Scott & White Surgicare - North Garland involves leading all aspects of the surgical department to align with the hospital's mission, vision, and operational goals. The Nurse Manager is tasked with overseeing surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services within the facility. This role demands a keen understanding of department business trends and resource management to ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. Responsibilities include establishing effective working relationships with patients, physicians, staff, volunteers, and vendors to foster a collaborative and positive healthcare environment. The Nurse Manager actively participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives by leveraging customer satisfaction data and encouraging employee involvement.
In addition, the Operating Room Nurse Manager may assist in clinical duties as an RN Circulator and Scrub Tech when necessary, demonstrating hands-on leadership and support for the surgical team. This position requires independent decision-making skills, the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and excellent communication capabilities to interact effectively with medical staff and administration. Job Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing
- Current Texas RN License
- BLS certification
- Five years experience in surgery as circulator
- Two years experience in surgery management including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care
- CNOR certification preferred
- Independent decision making skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Excellent communication skills with staff and physicians
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Oversee all departmental functions in support of hospital mission, vision, and facility goals
- Identify cost-effective systems to support department business considering trends and resource availability
- Establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, volunteers, and vendors
- Remedy issues through continuous customer satisfaction data analysis and employee involvement
- Work with senior management to meet facility goals
- Oversee surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing services
- Assist as RN Circulator and Scrub Tech as necessary
