Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year previous experience cleaning hospital operating rooms highly preferred
  • knowledge about terminally cleaning operating rooms strongly preferred
  • leadership experience strongly preferred

Job Duties

  • Clean operating rooms
  • empty, clean and reline trash containers
  • properly dispose of all waste including biohazardous materials
  • assist supervisor with training new hires and in-service training with staff
  • clean restrooms, restocking dispensers
  • dust hard surface floors/vacuum carpets
  • perform patient interviews on incoming and discharging patients to inform them of expectations from the environmental services department
  • additional cleaning and bed making as required by patient discharge or transfer including removal of clinical support equipment and supplies as well as soiled linen
  • follow-up on complaints and concerns made by patients, family members and staff
