The Onsite EAP Counselor role at ComPsych involves providing essential behavioral health support as part of the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees located in Palmdale, California. This position plays a vital role in enhancing employee well-being by offering a combination of short-term individual counseling, leadership consultation, training, and promotional activities. The counselor conducts sessions either in-person or via telehealth, addressing mental health and work-related challenges. They are also responsible for performing risk assessments for employees in crisis, facilitating critical incident debriefings when necessary, and responding to program inquiries to connect employees with appropriate resources. Furthermore, the role includes delivering training sessions and lunch-and-learns focused on behavioral health topics, supporting leadership with consultations related to workplace behavioral health issues, and aiding in the strategic planning of program service delivery and satisfaction. This hybrid position requires the incumbent to work on-site approximately 32 hours per week with an additional 8 hours per week via telehealth, offering flexible and accessible support. Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in a mental health discipline or doctorate in psychology
- Independent clinical license to practice in California
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate clinical experience
- Experience managing work-related issues at employer’s worksite
- Skilled in crisis management, substance use, and psychiatric treatment
- Ability to consult with organizational management
- Availability to work hybrid schedule: 32 hours onsite and 8 hours telehealth per week
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in analytical and critical thinking
- Active membership in professional bodies
- CEAP certification is preferred
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provides in-person or telehealth short-term counseling for employees
- Provides in-person and telephonic risk assessment for employees in crisis
- Provides critical incident debriefings when indicated
- Addresses inquiries about program benefits and connects employees with resources
- Participates in mental health promoting activities
- Provides training and lunch-and-learns on behavioral health issues
- Provides leadership consultations and support for workplace behavioral health issues
- Provides strategy support on program service delivery satisfaction
- Performs other duties as assigned
