The role offered is for an Online QC-Process Chemistry Instrument Sales professional located in the West US region, ideally covering the Los Angeles metro area, San Francisco Bay area, or Portland, OR. This is a field-based position requiring an individual with strong technical sales expertise in online and process analytical instrumentation. The successful candidate will be responsible for directly selling state-of-the-art online and process analysis instruments such as Ion Chromatography (IC), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), and electrochemistry devices to a varied client base across multiple industries including chemical manufacturing, electroplating, wafer fabrication, semiconductor, energy, bio-fermentation, environmental and water monitoring, and food industries.
This sales role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate market opportunities relative to the product portfolio, develop comprehensive sales and business plans, engage and qualify potential customers, and effectively shepherd them through the sales funnel from initial contact to closing the deal. The position also involves coordinating with engineering teams to design tailored solutions that precisely address the unique requirements and challenges of each customer. The candidate must be capable of managing complex projects and demonstrating clear communication skills that outline their path to success in the sales role.
This is a demanding role that involves frequent travel, with an average of 40% overnight travel (approximately 8 nights per month), which may increase to as much as 60% (around 12 nights per month), requiring flexibility and commitment. The compensation package includes a base salary of over $135,000 per year, uncapped commissions providing excellent earning potential, a company car, and an excellent benefits package. Relocation to the West US region is self-supported. Job Requirements
- bsc in chemistry, physics, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related field
- knowledge and expertise in applications for online quality control or process instruments making analytical measurements
- 5 or more years experience in a customer facing role ideally in technical field sales
- demonstrated ability to strategically plan for covering a large geography
- capable of succinctly communicating an outline of your path to success in the role
