Job Description

We are currently seeking to hire a Cook II, a pivotal role within our culinary team. This position is perfect for a culinary professional who is not only skilled in food preparation but also experienced in supervising kitchen operations to ensure excellence in every dish served. As a Cook II, you will be responsible for preparing and supervising the production of high-quality food items, maintaining stringent standards for quality, portion control, and presentation. Your expertise will help keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently, ensuring that every guest receives a memorable dining experience.

In this role, you will act as a leader and mentor to kitchen staff, guiding them to deliver consistent, high-quality food and service. Your proactive approach means anticipating challenges and resolving them before they impact the operation. Clear and effective communication is key to success, as you will be expected to coordinate seamlessly with co-workers and address any concerns professionally with guests.

You will also be responsible for maintaining an organized and sanitary work environment in line with safety standards, ensuring the kitchen is always clean and well-maintained. Time management skills are essential, enabling you to keep food preparation and service punctual and on point, cultivating a smooth workflow that supports efficient kitchen and dining room collaboration.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives under pressure, is highly organized, and demonstrates creativity and passion for cooking. Previous supervisory experience is preferred, along with a certification that meets state requirements for food handlers. Job Requirements

  • Previous supervisory responsibility preferred
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience, or a culinary graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a hotel or related field
  • Food Handlers Certification required (must comply with State requirements)
  • Able to work effectively under pressure, maintaining composure while quickly evaluating situations and determining the best course of action
  • A strong communicator who listens actively to understand concerns raised by coworkers and guests, and effectively conveys ideas and solutions
