The position of Registered Pharmacy Technician at Moffitt offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, highly specialized healthcare setting. A registered pharmacy technician is a critical team member who supports licensed pharmacists by performing essential pharmacy tasks and duties under direct supervision. Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent experience qualifying for licensure under Florida Statutes Section 465.014
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license
- experience with outpatient pharmacy orders, inventory computer systems, filling and dispensing of outpatient prescriptions, prior authorizations, and patient assistance programs preferred
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent experience qualifying for licensure under Florida Statutes Section 465.014
- Registered Pharmacy Technician license
- minimum 2 years of experience or 1 year at Moffitt as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with experience in unit dose, pharmacy orders, inventory computer systems, investigational or REMS medication management, pharmacy automation software, and electronic health records systems
Job Duties
- Transcribe medication orders into computerized medical record system ensuring completeness as required by protocol and policy
- process prescriptions and new orders for pharmacist review
- fill medication orders accurately and in proper priority ensuring correct labeling
- prepare and deliver medications maintaining proper storage and stability requirements
- perform routine quality assurance including checking for expired or recalled medications
- receive medications and supplies following inventory control and purchasing policies
- maintain medication inventory levels and report needs or supply issues
