As an On-Demand Team Member in Target’s Small Format stores, the role encompasses a broad spectrum of responsibilities that revolve around ensuring a positive guest experience and smooth store operations. This includes but is not limited to cashier duties, stocking shelves, maintaining product presentation, ensuring price accuracy, and assisting guests in finding what they need. The team member becomes an expert in various areas of the store, supporting sales floor readiness, stock management, and executing marketing and promotional strategies effectively.

Small Format Team Members at Target gain valuable retail business fundamentals, learning about department sales trends, pricing strategies, inventory management, and operational improvements. The role is highly interactive and requires excellent communication skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities to meet store goals and enhance guest satisfaction. Additionally, team members are expected to participate in loading and unloading shipments, auditing inventory, maintaining cleanliness standards, and supporting services like order pickup and drive-up.

The position demands reliability and proactive engagement, as On-Demand Team Members need to work shifts regularly (at least once every four weeks) and respond promptly to scheduling communications. Attendance and safety are critical, with expectations set around handling cash transactions accurately, operating ladders and equipment safely, and adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand and remain mobile for entire shift
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
  • Ensure the sales floor is fully stocked, zoned, and in stock across all departments
  • Assist with truck unloading and stock product to the sales floor
  • Execute adjacency changes, transitions, revisions, and sales plans
  • Conduct weekly price changes and ensure accurate promotional signing
  • Process inbound deliveries and complete backroom inventory audits
