Job Description

Target is a leading retail corporation known for its commitment to helping families discover the joy of everyday life through outstanding customer experiences and community involvement. As a Fortune 500 company, Target operates hundreds of stores across the United States, offering a wide range of products, from household essentials and clothing to electronics and groceries. The company prides itself on fostering a strong values-driven culture that emphasizes inclusivity, respect, and innovation. Target continuously invests in its team members' growth, providing career development opportunities, competitive pay, and a variety of benefits designed to support employees' well-being and success.

The On-Demand Team Member position at Target offers a flexible employment model that enables individuals to tailor their work schedules based on personal availability and shift needs. This role is uniquely suited for those seeking flexible hours and personalized work arrangements, as the schedule is never fixed but rather created by selecting available shifts through Target's mobile scheduling application. On-Demand Team Members play a vital part in ensuring optimal store service during peak hours and fluctuating customer traffic. This role requires reliable attendance, active engagement in fulfilling shifts regularly, and responsiveness to scheduling communications.

As a Guest Advocate within the On-Demand Team Member framework, you will be the face of Target's exceptional customer service efforts, engaging guests with warmth, helpfulness, and professionalism. Your role contributes directly to creating inclusive and memorable shopping experiences by assisting guests in-store and online, resolving concerns, facilitating loyalty program enrollments, and supporting various services such as order pickups and drive-up orders. This position demands excellent communication skills, problem-solving capability, and a commitment to operational excellence including store cleanliness and merchandise handling.

Onboarding includes a mandatory Target Welcome orientation and structured training to ensure readiness for the wide array of responsibilities. Team members are empowered to operate independently while also collaborating seamlessly with store leaders and other team members to address guest needs and store performance goals. A typical workday is dynamic and varied, offering the chance to build valuable skills in retail operations, customer engagement, and technology usage. This makes the role ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments and appreciate the freedom to choose their work hours.

Target values diversity and inclusion and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities, ensuring a supportive and accessible hiring process. Employment under this role requires adherence to attendance standards and compliance with Target's policies, including safety and ethical conduct.

The starting hourly rate for this position is $15.00 USD. The benefits package includes health insurance, paid time off, and other financial and wellness benefits that contribute to a rewarding employment experience. This role provides an excellent opportunity for those seeking part-time or flexible work while gaining meaningful experience in customer service and retail operations, with potential pathways for career advancement within the company.
