Job Description
Zen Educate is an educational staffing company that partners with public and charter schools across various school districts to build stronger school communities. Dedicated to improving educational environments, Zen Educate provides personalized job matches and ongoing mentorship to educators at every step of their professional journey. The company focuses on supporting schools by supplying qualified educators to fill essential roles, especially in inclusive and special education classrooms. With its commitment to fostering meaningful educational experiences, Zen Educate plays a critical role in helping schools maintain continuity in instruction and classroom management, which benefits both students and teachers alike.
We are currently hiring substitute teachers for full-year positions within inclusive and special education classrooms. These are not temporary summer roles but rather year-round opportunities designed to help substitute teachers build substantial classroom experience, develop their teaching practices, and make a lasting impact on students and school communities. Candidates hired will work within a consistent single school setting, gaining hands-on experience with multiple classrooms while forging strong professional relationships. This role requires flexibility, dedication, and a passion for supporting diverse learners.
Substitute teachers at Zen Educate will be responsible for maintaining a classroom environment conducive to learning, following lesson plans provided by regular classroom teachers, and utilizing various instructional methods to support student learning. The positions are being recruited ahead of the 2026/2027 school year, with start dates coinciding with the new academic calendar. Roles are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to ensure candidates secure their placement before the school year begins. Compensation ranges from $150 to $170 per day, with work schedules primarily Monday to Thursday, between 7:30 AM and 3:00 or 4:30 PM, depending on school hours.
Zen Educate requires candidates to have a Substitute Teaching License valid in Arizona and an IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card. Experience working with children and professional proficiency in English are a must. The company also mandates US work authorization, as it does not sponsor employment visas or provide relocation assistance. Physical ability to move around the classroom, assist students safely, and manage a dynamic environment is also essential.
Preferred qualifications include subject matter expertise, a bachelor’s degree, and experience supporting students in special education. Benefits include weekly pay, paid sick leave, and a 401K plan subject to eligibility. Prospective candidates are encouraged to apply promptly, as openings are limited and prioritized on a first-come basis. Zen Educate offers a rewarding avenue for educators passionate about making a meaningful difference in schools and growing professionally within a supportive and structured environment.
