The Line Cook position plays a vital role in the daily kitchen operations at Four Seasons Private Residences Los Angeles. A key member of the culinary team, the Line Cook is responsible for ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality menu items, including unique and flavorful specials. This role demands not only technical cooking skills but also creativity, precision, and the ability to maintain consistent quality standards in an elegant, fast-paced environment. This is an hourly position with a competitive hourly wage of $29.00 to $31.00, reflective of the culinary skill and professionalism expected. The schedule offers flexibility with on-call shifts spanning early mornings, days, evenings, and weekends, supporting a dynamic and responsive kitchen environment. Beyond cooking duties, the Line Cook participates in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols, and responding appropriately to resident requests including special meal preparation or substitutions. This role also contributes to inventory management by completing requisitions and effectively communicating supply needs to the Purchasing department.

  • Completion of an apprenticeship, cooking school or culinary institute education
  • Casual dining experience of 3+ years
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Highly developed sense of taste and comprehensive sauce preparation skills
  • Refined plating techniques

Job Duties

  • Assist in creating and preparing menus items and specials
  • Check and complete mise en place and pars and set-up the station
  • Complete requisitions, obtain proper signatures and submit to the Purchasing department
  • Communicate regarding menu items, problem situations or shortages
  • Utilize the computer system in retrieving orders
  • Work closely with standard recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain standards of quality in production and presentation
  • Maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed
  • Store items properly at the end of the shift
  • Ensure a clean, neat, and organized work area
  • Handle and report any accident immediately, no matter how minor
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Four Seasons Hotels and encourage staff to do the same
  • Respond appropriately to resident requests with respect to special meal preparation or substitutions
  • Work alone in a busy environment
  • Create unique, flavorful, and quality specials
