Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in banquet or event serving
  • Bartending experience in a hospitality setting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Physical stamina for moderate lifting
  • Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy guest needs in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous events or banquet server experience
  • Previous bartending experience including beer, wine, and cocktail service in banquet, catering, or full-service hotel environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Physical stamina to lift moderate weight
  • Open availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests, managers, and fellow employees at all times
  • Perform preparatory tasks and side work duties to ensure prompt and efficient guest service
  • Read and understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and be familiar with the menu of the assigned function
  • Serve guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner according to hotel standards
  • Perform banquet bartender duties including setup, service, breakdown, and responsible alcohol service
  • Respond to guest problems, complaints, and accidents, communicating to management if necessary
  • Set all tables according to hotel standards
  • Maintain banquet storeroom neatly and stocked with appropriate supplies
  • Clean banquet space after functions and properly store and restock equipment and supplies
  • Prepare rooms according to BEO and meal function requirements
  • Follow all money handling procedures when serving guests
  • Use suggestive selling techniques
  • Accurately describe menu items for each function
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
