We are currently seeking an On Call Dietary Aide/Cook to join our team. The role involves preparing and serving meals that meet the specific dietary needs and preferences of our residents. If you have experience in restaurant cooking and a passion for contributing to the well-being of others, this opportunity allows you to bring joy and comfort to our residents through your culinary skills. Working under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager, you will be responsible for cooking food according to prescribed diet plans and maintaining strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards. This position requires someone who is capable of working effectively in a temperature-regulated environment near kitchen appliances and walk-in refrigerators. The shift for this role is Sundays, providing flexibility for those seeking part-time or supplemental work. You will also assist in maintaining clean and orderly kitchen work areas and be vigilant in inventorying food supplies and reporting any hazards or equipment issues. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents receive nutritious, safe, and appetizing meals every day, supporting their health and overall satisfaction during their stay at our facilities.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Food handler's permit or ServSafe certification as per state requirements
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other associates

Job Duties

Prepare and serve food and meals in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies
Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils
Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy
ensure proper storage of food and supplies
adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures
Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers)
Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents
