Telecare Corporation is a reputable organization committed to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with serious mental illnesses. Operating Villa Fairmont MHRC, a 96-bed licensed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center, Telecare specializes in serving adults aged 18 to 65 who face significant mental health challenges. The center's mission is to deliver and manage excellent services and systems of care that empower clients to realize their full potential despite their mental impairments. With a dedicated focus on therapeutic and rehabilitative approaches, Telecare aims to foster an environment of respect, dignity, and professional support for both clients and staff.
Villa Fairmont MHRC is an integral part of Telecare’s wide-reaching initiative to provide comprehensive mental health services, combining clinical care with rehabilitative support. This facility offers a structured and supportive setting where clients receive personalized care plans designed to promote recovery and community reintegration. The center emphasizes collaborative team efforts, strict adherence to hygiene and safety standards, and the implementation of therapeutic diets tailored to clients' health needs.
The role of Cook at Villa Fairmont MHRC is essential to the smooth operation of the dietary department and to enhancing the overall well-being of the clients. The Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving nutritionally balanced meals, including meat, fish, vegetables, soups, salads, and desserts, while ensuring compliance with therapeutic diet requirements. This position requires knowledge and experience in food production within health care settings, particularly institutional kitchens. The Cook must be adept at using specialized kitchen equipment such as steam tables, stoves, refrigerators, and freezers. Attention to detail and adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols are critical to preventing food waste and ensuring client health and satisfaction.
Telecare’s Cook plays a vital role not only in meal preparation but also as a team participant. They collaborate with the Dietary Supervisor to adjust menus and food preparation techniques as needed, especially for clients with special dietary requirements. The position demands a high level of professionalism, willingness to work with disabled adults, and commitment to maintaining safety and cleanliness standards at all times. Working under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, the Cook also oversees dietary staff operations in the absence of the supervisor to maintain consistent quality and safety standards.
This position is unionized and offers flexible shifts including on-call, morning, afternoon, and varying day shifts depending on operational requirements. The starting wage is approximately $21.94 per hour, with pay commensurate with experience and geographic location. Telecare Corporation supports the professional growth of its employees through continuous training and development opportunities while fostering a respectful and cooperative workplace culture. Successful candidates will be required to complete fingerprinting and DOJ clearance to ensure compliance with legal and organizational policies.
Working as a Cook at Villa Fairmont MHRC is a rewarding career opportunity for individuals passionate about nutrition and mental health care. The position combines culinary skills with a compassionate service approach, allowing staff to contribute meaningfully to the recovery and quality of life of individuals living with serious mental illness.
