Job Requirements

  • Previous waitstaff experience a must
  • high school diploma or GED required
  • knowledge of catering practices preferred
  • ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment
  • clean background check
  • reliable transportation a must
  • must be able to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • must be able to continuously stand or walk a minimum of 8 hours
  • must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over the course of a shift
  • must be friendly, outgoing and willing to engage guests in conversation
  • ServSafe certified a plus

Job Duties

  • Wear approved uniform and nametag at all times
  • follow posted schedule and hotel time and attendance policies
  • read and understand banquet event orders (BEOs)
  • set up linen, china, glass, silver for each function according to BEO
  • set up, maintain, inventory, and break down beverage breaks and food buffets or food displays
  • be knowledgeable of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and appropriate garnishes
  • transport food and beverage items to guests in a timely manner ensuring proper food quality
  • replenish guest beverages when necessary and inquire about their satisfaction
  • accommodate all guests at functions while circulating the room and responding politely to guest requests and anticipating needs
  • quickly remove dishes as guests finish meals or at the end of each meal or function
  • abide by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations regarding serving alcoholic beverages
  • complete assigned tasks such as refilling condiments, cleaning, and storing serving equipment
  • assist with inventory, food storage, and closeout tasks after events
  • assist with and follow up on guest complaints and requests, reporting issues to supervisor
  • ensure quality standards are met for brand expectations
  • execute any other tasks assigned by hotel management for successful property operation
