The Leta by Hilton Tapestry Collection is a distinguished hotel located on the coast, embodying a down-to-earth and welcoming spirit. Renowned as one of Santa Barbara's best hotels, The Leta blends a Golden State of Mind attitude with surf-inspired décor, offering eclectic accommodations that provide both comfort and style. The hotel is vibrant and lively, featuring a strong passion for music and an elevated food and beverage scene that reflects its dynamic culture. This unique blend of casual elegance and sophisticated hospitality makes The Leta a sought-after destination for travelers who appreciate not only quality accommodation but also a rich sensory experience.
Alongside this, The Barnes Union Square Hotel in San Francisco offers guests a refined urban retreat. This historic landmark, dating back to 1908, balances charm and modern luxury. Positioned near the iconic Powell Street Cable Car by Union Square, it provides easy access to San Francisco's bustling city life via BART. The hotel’s sophisticated ambiance complements its convenient location, making it an ideal workplace for those who thrive in a busy, cosmopolitan environment.
This part-time position centers on banquet room setup and food and beverage service in a manner that meets high standards of quality and professionalism. The role requires individuals to prepare the banquet and bar areas by maintaining stock levels and ensuring all items needed for service are ready and replenished as required. You will greet guests warmly, take and serve their orders, and ensure that drinks are mixed following standard recipes while enforcing portion control to maintain consistency and cost efficiency. Handling transactions, ensuring proper cash management, and maintaining a secure working environment are also key components of the job.
The position demands familiarity with food and beverage preparation and basic bartending skills, including the handling and garnishing of drinks. Candidates need to be able to operate point-of-sale systems accurately and adhere strictly to all legal regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol, with a focus on responsibility and guest safety. The physical nature of this role includes standing for long periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Moreover, employees are expected to comply with health and safety standards, maintain a neat appearance, and adapt to the fluctuating schedule typical in the hospitality industry, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. This creates an engaging and rewarding working environment for team members who appreciate diversity in their duties and a cooperative team dynamic. This role offers a competitive hourly wage of $16.90 plus service fees, reflecting the hotel's commitment to rewarding quality service.
Overall, this opportunity with The Leta by Hilton Tapestry Collection and The Barnes Union Square Hotel represents an excellent entry or continuing career step in the hospitality industry, providing employees with hands-on experience in high-quality food and beverage service while working within prestigious and historic hotels in prime California locations.
