The On-Call Banquet Cook role at Mandarin Oriental, Boston is an integral part of the Food and Beverage team within the Culinary Department. This position demands a highly skilled culinary professional who thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. The Banquet Cook is responsible for assisting in the planning, preparation, and production of all banquet food items, ensuring that each dish meets the rigorous standards of the Mandarin Oriental brand. This involves precise execution of recipes, attention to portion size, quality, and presentation, all while maintaining the highest levels of food safety and sanitation.

As an On-Call Banquet Cook, you will report directly to the Sous Chef and Executive Banquet Chef, working closely with kitchen management and fellow staff members to deliver an outstanding culinary experience for guests. Duties include managing mise-en-place, ensuring proper food handling and storage, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and monitoring kitchen equipment to ensure it functions efficiently.

This role requires flexibility and the ability to work on-call shifts, including weekends and holidays, to support banquet events at the hotel. Physical endurance is also critical, as the position involves standing and walking for entire shifts and lifting or moving items up to 40 pounds. The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of experience in a similar position, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector, and possess excellent knife skills along with a broad knowledge of various cuisines and sanitation practices.
