Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable food and beverage outlet renowned for delivering exceptional dining experiences that combine quality cuisine with attentive service. As a key player in the hospitality industry, this establishment prides itself on creating memorable moments for guests by offering an inviting atmosphere and a diverse menu tailored to a wide range of tastes. The team is dedicated to maintaining high standards of presentation, taste, and customer satisfaction, which contributes to its strong reputation among patrons and within the community.

This company is seeking a Server Assistant/Food Runner, a critical role that focuses on the delivery and accuracy of food service within the restaurant. The role involves collaborating closely with the expo team to ensure that every dish leaving the kitchen is presented correctly and delivered promptly. The Server Assistant/Food Runner is entrusted with the responsibility of transporting food orders swiftly from the kitchen’s “hot” and “cold” windows to the designated tables, ensuring guests receive their meals at the optimal temperature and quality. This role supports the overall dining experience by assisting the service staff in meeting all guest needs, including delivering additional items to complete the meal.

The Server Assistant/Food Runner must have an eye for detail to verify each plate is prepared and garnished according to the guest’s order. They ensure each item accompanies the correct condiments and that the entire order is carefully arranged on the tray for efficient delivery. Working independently or in tandem with the expo, this role requires effective communication with servers to update them on guest requirements or potential issues, ensuring a seamless service flow. Apart from food delivery, the Server Assistant/Food Runner also undertakes essential side work, such as restocking linens, plates, and saucers, helping maintain an organized and efficient work environment.

Flexibility in working days and hours is a must as the position demands adaptability to the often dynamic pace of the food and beverage industry, making it both challenging and enjoyable. Applicants are expected to meet legal age requirements for alcohol service and preferably bring prior experience in food and beverage service. Certifications in Alcohol Service and Food Handling are mandatory to align with health and safety standards. Moreover, familiarity with restaurant terminology and food service techniques will benefit candidates in this role. Being a "people person" is highly valued, as the role focuses on creating extraordinary dining experiences through exceptional guest interaction.

Effective communication skills, especially fluency in English both written and verbal, are vital for handling guest requests and coordination among team members. Physically, the job involves standing and walking for extended periods, often up to eight hours per day, alongside occasional lifting and carrying duties of up to 25 pounds. This ensures the Server Assistant/Food Runner remains actively engaged throughout the shift while upholding the quality and timeliness of service.

In summary, the Server Assistant/Food Runner position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment in a respected food and beverage outlet. The role is ideal for motivated individuals who demonstrate a passion for customer service, flexibility, attention to detail, and teamwork skills, all while contributing significantly to the smooth operation and guest satisfaction of the restaurant.
