With an emphasis on creativity, entrepreneurship, and heartfelt service, Gaylord Hotels fosters an environment where employees, known as STARs, are empowered to provide exceptional hospitality beyond traditional hotel services. The company prides itself on offering extensive career opportunities, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package to its team members, promoting both personal and professional growth within the hospitality industry.
The Barback position at Gaylord Hotels is a vital role within the Food and Beverage Outlet department. This full-time, non-management role is essential in supporting bartenders by performing cleaning and stocking duties in the Food & Beverage outlet and lobby bar areas. The position ensures that bartenders have all necessary supplies to deliver excellent customer service efficiently. Compensation starts at $18.41 per hour, with scheduled pay increases to $20.86 per hour after six months and $24.55 per hour after one year. The role primarily favors day shift schedules but requires a flexible approach to varying schedules, including evenings, holidays, and overtime, as business needs dictate. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires excellent teamwork and communication skills to maintain smooth beverage service operations.
Barbacks play a crucial role in maintaining stock levels, glassware cleanliness, and overall organization of the bar and storage areas. The job involves physical tasks such as lifting various weights, standing and walking for extended periods, and working in diverse environmental conditions, including outdoor weather, extreme temperatures, and exposure to fumes or chemicals. The role is integral to ensuring the bar's operation runs seamlessly, directly impacting guest satisfaction and the overall beverage experience. Gaylord Hotels emphasizes safety and adherence to internal policies, requiring food handlers and alcoholic beverage certifications, reflecting the company's commitment to high standards in service and compliance.
Joining Gaylord Hotels means becoming part of a global team committed to delivering unparalleled hospitality while advancing your career in a supportive and enriching environment. The STAR culture encourages employees to excel and grow, fostering a workplace where diversity and inclusion are celebrated. Employees benefit from comprehensive medical, retirement, paid time off, life insurance, disability coverage, and other wellness programs, all designed to provide a holistic work-life balance. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to a highly respected hospitality brand with a strong heritage and future-oriented vision.
