Take 5 Oil Change is currently seeking a Shop Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for individuals who are people-oriented, driven, and natural leaders. If you lack direct experience, you can explore assistant manager or manager-in-training roles designed to provide hands-on training in managing shop operations and performing light auto maintenance services. This role includes responsibilities such as recruiting, training new crew members, managing schedules and payroll, controlling inventory, understanding shop financials, conducting employee evaluations, and supporting the team in providing high-quality customer service and auto maintenance. The Shop Manager also participates in routine vehicle maintenance tasks like oil changes, filter replacements, and tire air filling.

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift to fifty pounds
  • must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot deep pit safely
  • must be able to walk stand bend stoop twist for extended periods
  • must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions
  • must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
  • must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
  • must have basic computer operating skills

Job Duties

  • Recruiting interviewing onboarding and training new crew members
  • creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
  • controlling inventory including conducting end of period and end of year inventory
  • placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
  • understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
  • conducting quarterly employee evaluations
  • supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
  • draining motor oil changing oil filters and performing other auto services as necessary
  • providing excellent customer service
