The Shop Manager position at Take 5 Oil Change represents an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy leadership and team management. Experienced managers can earn a competitive salary starting from $55,000 annually along with additional bonus opportunities, recognizing the vital role shop managers play in our success. For candidates without prior management experience, we offer paid training to equip you with the necessary skills to excel in managing a shop location and performing basic vehicle maintenance services such as oil changes, wiper blade replacement, air filter replacement, and tire inflation.
Our comprehensive training ensures that within 60 days, shop managers are fully accountable for their team's execution of Take 5's high standards in service quality and efficiency. Many of our successful employees started with no prior experience, coming from diverse backgrounds such as restaurant service, retail, mechanics, landscaping, and other skilled trades. This role not only involves supervising and developing your team through recruiting, onboarding, and training but also requires managing operational tasks like scheduling, payroll, inventory control, ordering supplies, and understanding shop financials to drive results and utilize budgets wisely.
Shop Managers at Take 5 also play an active role in customer service and vehicle maintenance, personally assisting with service tasks when needed. We believe that leadership involves being hands-on and leading by example. Our managers conduct quarterly employee evaluations to maintain high performance standards and foster a positive work environment. The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, maneuver in and out of service pits, and endure varying weather conditions.

Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3-foot deep pit safely
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning for extended periods
- Must be willing to work in hot or cold weather conditions if necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week occasionally
- Must have basic computer operating skills
Job Qualifications
- Experience in management or leadership roles preferred but not required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Duties
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory, including conducting End of Period (EOP) and End of Year (EOY) inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as needed
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and performing other necessary auto services
- Providing excellent customer service
