The Shop Manager role at Take 5 Oil Change is a unique leadership opportunity designed for energetic, people-oriented individuals who thrive in team settings and leadership positions. This full-time position involves overseeing daily shop operations to ensure adherence to Take 5’s standards for quick, quality oil changes and light maintenance services, including replacing wiper blades, changing air filters, and filling tires with air. The company recognizes that experienced management professionals come from diverse backgrounds such as automotive service, retail, and hospitality, and it welcomes candidates with or without prior experience in automotive shop management. Take 5 offers paid training to all new hires, providing comprehensive knowledge of both technical automotive services and managerial best practices.
Shop Managers at Take 5 are accountable for leading and motivating a crew, managing inventory, controlling financials, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members, scheduling personnel and submitting payroll, conducting employee evaluations, and supporting the team in performing shop services. The position requires a hands-on leader who can contribute directly to service delivery as well as handle administrative tasks and business operations effectively.
Compensation for this position ranges from $43,800 to $72,200 annually, with the potential to earn $55,000 or more as a Shop Manager, inclusive of base salary and bonus opportunities. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift to fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to maneuver in and out of a shallow 3’ deep pit to position yourself safely under cars
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, twist, etc. for extended periods of time and perform activities involving holding, grasping, pulling, and turning
- Must be willing to work in hot/cold weather conditions if necessary
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the shop
- Must be willing to work early hours and up to 55 hours per week on occasion
- Must have basic computer operating skills

- Experience in leadership or management roles preferred but not required

Job Duties
- Recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new crew members
- Creating crew schedules and submitting payroll
- Controlling inventory including conducting End of Period and End of Year inventory
- Placing product orders and physically restocking inventory as necessary
- Understanding the shop’s financials to drive results and utilize budget wisely
- Conducting quarterly employee evaluations
- Supporting crew members with duties such as changing oil and performing other auto services
- Draining motor oil, changing oil filters, and performing other auto services as necessary
- Providing excellent customer service
