Job Requirements

  • Minimum three years of equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • ability to understand and interpret policies
  • ability to respond to internal and external customers
  • ability to work collaboratively with others
  • knowledge of confidentiality and mandatory reporting rules
  • proficiency in computer-based tasks including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management
  • ability to follow instructions
  • able to operate office equipment
  • ability to meet physical demands including sitting, talking, hand motions, lifting up to 25 pounds
  • withstand typical office noise and interruptions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • office or secretarial training preferred
  • three years of progressively responsible secretarial or office experience using personal computers
  • ability to demonstrate required bilingual proficiency for bilingual duties if applicable
  • excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills
  • good judgment, courtesy, and tact
  • ability to apply knowledge and skills timely and accurately
  • strong business English and math skills

Job Duties

  • Completes general and financial clerical tasks
  • facilitates service provider payment
  • performs receptionist duties
  • establishes and maintains logs, records, and files
  • maintains reception area and office supplies
  • facilitates confidence in Office Specialist 2 and therefore the Agency and programs
  • protects consumers and reduces Agency risk
  • provides excellent customer service in a professional manner
